"There are all kinds of love in this world,
but never the same love twice."
F. Scott Fitzgerald

Hello, I am Grant James, Ibiza Celebrant

If you have arrived here I must congratulate you. It means that you have found the one. The person you love and have decided to make your commitment to. Allow me to help you with the celebration that lies ahead.

As the statement above conveys "there is never the same love twice" so therefore I believe there should never be the same wedding ceremony twice. Every ceremony should be unique and written to reflect and define who you both are on your most important day. Your ceremony should tell your story. You can decide on the style that characterizes you best with a bespoke content and flow to ensure that you, your family and friends have a personalised special day to remember. Whether this is deep, emotional and heartfelt or slightly lighter with a touch of humour. The point is it's up to you.

My Role in Your Ceremony

My role is firstly to get to know you both, if you are on the Island we can meet so that I can not only ask you all the questions I need to write your ceremony, but to find out who you really are. If not, we can arrange a skype call and get to know each other that way. Once I have written your script, I will send you a draft to read and together we can make any changes, if you feel you would like to.

Just before your big day we will meet to rehearse the choreography so that you are comfortable and happy with how the ceremony will flow and what you will do.

Your day can also include vows that you have written to your loved one. Readings from a guest or guests, I have several readings if you need help in choosing something to fit. You can also include ceremonial rituals such as a sand ceremony or hand tying to give you something to take away as a memento.

What is a Celebrant's Job?

As a celebrant, my job is to write your personalised ceremony and then to host the special event. The ceremony will normally run for 25-30 minutes. The ceremony is non-religious but can include a prayer or reading from your faith if this is something you wish to include. Your venue or wedding planner will organise all the other details around the ceremony to give you your perfect special day.

Ibiza : The White Isle

If you have chosen Ibiza as the destination for your wedding, this magical island must hold a special place in your heart as it does for me. It's beauty and spirit can mean so much to so many, with everyone having their own tale to tell.

My first visit to Ibiza was in 1992 (I was very young) and I knew straight away it wouldn't be my last. In 1997 I moved to the island and met my soulmate who is now my beautiful wife. We have been together since then and happily married since 2006.

"Grant made our wedding day so special and so personal! He spent so much time getting to know us in person, video calling and via email to perfect his personalised ceremony for our big day. His input creating our personalised ceremony made our day even more special than we could ever imagine . . . " continue >>

UK Marriage Certificates

To make sure you are fully aware the ceremony held in Ibiza will not be recognised as a legal marriage in the UK. For a UK certificate of marriage, you would need to attend your local registry office, I would recommend doing this just before you travel but that is up to you. The cost is £50, and you just need two witnesses.
